Objective

The student
- knows different fertilization strategies and associated technology
- can identify spring-growing weeds in the field
- understands the importance of cultivation experiments to develop plant cultivation in Finland
- knows the Finnish coastal region's conditions for agriculture
- knows the agricultural infrastructure and specifics of the Finnish coastal region

Regional excursion
Study visit to the Center for Sugar Beet Research
Study visits to fertilization and plant protection experiments
SPAD diagnosis in cereals
Plant Protection Day with business representatives
Field studies
The course is based on several of the global sustainability goals, mainly the goals of Responsible consumption and production, Life on land and Climate action.
