Objective
The student
- is aware of the authorities' requirements for animal producers regarding the various animal diseases
- knows the basics of animal health care with emphasis on disease prevention measures
- understands what affects a good animal health and can identify a healthy animal
- knows about common health problems and diseases in animals and their symptoms
- can take action when animals fall ill
- is aware of the risks of the spread of infection
- is aware of the most serious animal diseases.
Content
The most common health problems in international and Finnish animal husbandry
Some specifically selected animal diseases of major production significance and quarantine diseases
The course is based on several of the global sustainability goals, mainly the goal of Responsible consumption and production and of Good health and well-being.
