Objective

The student
- is familiar with Baroque harmonics and the basics of basso continuo.
- is able to write out a bass part with numbers.
- students with cembalo as their main instrument: learning how to play an accompaniment by numbers.

Location and time

Integrated in the studies under the whole academic year, mostly in project-based intensive periods. Timetable will be shared via the Teams group for baroque singers.

Materials

Continuo studies help the student understand music making from a different perspective and develop the understanding of harmony and stucture.

Teaching methods

Group lessons.
Seminars on repertoire.
Rehearsals and concert projects with and without teachers.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The course is passed when the student participates actively, develops independent individual thinking and is able to transfer the theoretical knowledge in to the practical music making.
