The student is able to apply
- types of joints for different wood products
- fire dimensioning methods

The student is able to take into account
- operation of connector groups as a whole
- the effect of the stiffness of the joint on the structure
- the effect of carbonising components on the performance of the joints

The student is able to calculate and examine
- dimensioning of the shear-loaded nail joint
- dimensioning of the shear-loaded screw connection
- dimensioning of the axially loaded screw connection
- dimensioning of the corner plate joint
- dimensioning of the glue bar connection
- dimensioning of the "board joint"
- fire dimensioning

The student is able to identify
- mechanical operation of joints
- joints breakage
- weaknesses and strengths of joints
- the effect of joints on wood cracking
- the effects of combining different materials on wood cracking
- the effect of the joints on the acoustics
