Objective
After passing the course the student is expected to:
• Be able to define and name the basic concepts and theories related to contact, friction wear and lubrication mechanisms
Content
• Different mechanisms behind different forms of wear
• Tribological properties of the materials
• Lubricants, lubrication theories and various types of lubrication
• Hydrodynamic fluid film theory for sliding and rolling motion
• Mixed film and interlayer lubrication
