Objective

The Student:
- has knowledge of diseases preventable by vaccination both nationally and internationally
- has knowledge of the composition of vaccines, benefits of vaccinations, and vaccination sideeffects
- has knowledge of the national vaccination program in Finland and its legislation
- has knowledge of vaccination for different target groups
- can guide clients with the support of the latest evidence-based knowledge
- has skills in counseling and preparation for vaccination, knowledge of vaccination techniques, and post-vaccination measures

Content

Diseases preventable by vaccination and their prevalence.
Benefits of vaccines at individual, population, and societal levels.
Composition of vaccines, different types of vaccines, storage, transport, and disposal of vaccines
The national vaccination program, legislation
Vaccination of different target groups
Preparation and guidance for the vaccination situation, assessment of vaccination needs, vaccination planning and decision-making, contraindications, and precautions
Actions in vaccination situations, vaccination equipment, administration methods, and choice of injection site. Preparation for immediate vaccination reactions. Post-vaccination measures

NU22BC06-3006 Drug Therapy and Pharmacology 1 3 cr ( injection administration)

The coursematerial is in Swedish language and the virtual exam is also in Swedish language
