Objective
The student:
* has a good command of the basics of dimensioning and adequate previous knowledge for the following course in structural mechanics
* knows how to calculate force magnitudes with the emphasis on the balance principle.
Content
- Construction types & loads
- Power, torque, power system
- Equilibrium conditions, support reactions
- Trusses
Professional skills that are practiced:
To be able to present their calculations
To know the subject area's concepts and terminology
To seek suitable sources to expand their knowledge in the field
Location and time
See the schedule
Materials
- Langesten Bengt, Building construction 1, Building statics - Lecture notes and materials - Rakentajain calendar and Building calendar
Teaching methods
Lectures combined with counting exercises
Student counting exercises, which should encourage counting on their own and give routine to solve mechanical problems. The student must be able to clearly present and explain their calculations, both orally and in writing.
Study visits
Any guest lectures
The course content and the program are described in more detail on Moodle.
If necessary, and when it has been agreed in advance, it may be possible to participate in the distance learning. This then happens in real time and requires that the student can be active and participate in the teaching with sound and image.
