The student:
- is familiar with EU:s and Finlands energy strategies
- knows the role and potential of bio-energy in Finland
- can make a course assessment of carbon-dioxide emissions for different forms of energy
- is familiar with different raw materials for bio-energy and can assess their abundance
- knows that quality requirements for raw materials depend on how the will be refined to energy
- is familiar with ways to arrange energy supply taking alternative systems and locally produced energy into account
- knows how to make economic calculations in order to determine the profitability of energy-saving measures, production and the use of renewable energy
