Objective

Occupational and environmental safety in construction
The student knows the dangers of concrete work from eye injuries and chemical burns and is able to equip the work with appropriate equipment.

Construction Process excellence
The student knows the raw materials of concrete and knows the principles of proportioning. He / she knows the properties of fresh concrete and can choose the flexibility of the concrete and the necessary additives. He / she is familiar with different concrete casting techniques and formwork equipment and can choose the appropriate methods for the particular task. He / she knows the special requirements of winter concreting and is able to evaluate the strength of concrete in cold conditions. He / she can also avoid concrete heating problems related to casting of massive structures. Prestressed concrete structures on site, especially for strength development. The students knows how concrete works are effecting environment and knows how to make environmental friendly concrete

Specialization in Renovation
The student is familiar with the carbonation effect of concrete and the related corrosion of steels and the effect of frost and salt on concrete structures and is able to take these requirements into account in design and production tasks.

Quality management competence
The student is familiar with the strength rating, waterproofing and frost resistance requirements of the concrete, as well as the related testing procedure and is able to evaluate on the basis of the results whether the concrete used fulfills the requirement.
