Structural Mechanics 1Laajuus (3 cr)

Code: INF21RP03

Credits

3 op

Objective

The student can for statically determined structural members exposed to bending, calculate bearing forces, transverse force and bending moments, and with the help of formulas calculate deflection. The student can both draw and interpret torque and transverse force diagrams. The student understands the function of truss beams. The student knows the stress distribution in a flexural cross section. After completing the course, the student can do simple cross-sectional dimensioning for rectangular solid cross-sections.
