Objective

The Student:
- understands the basics of microbiology and immunology
- has knowledge of preventive care and the care of the most common national and global infectious diseases
- is familiar with the epidemiology of infectious diseases
- has knowledge of various transmission routes to assess and prevent infection risks, as well as isolation
- can guide and support individuals regarding risks and procedures in case of suspected global epidemics and pandemics

Laws and regulations on communicable diseases
The different microbial groups and the most common pathogenic microbes
Microbiota and the immune system in health and disease
Development and consequences of resistant bacteria
Immunization
Own role in antibiotic stewardship
Acute inflammatory response
Current global and national infectious diseases
