- understands the importance of infrastructure for the Finnish forest industry
- has basic knowledge of road construction
- can plan maintenance and refurbishment of forest roads
- knows methods used for remote transport of timber and wood fuel
- can organise the transport of timber and wood fuel
- understands the importance of information systems in transport management
- understands how route optimisation is used to achieve cost savings
- knows the legislation and agreements that set out the framework for transport in the forest industry
- knows how tariffs for commercial transport are calculated
- knows how to arrange transport using barges and ships
