The student:
- is able to explain the structure and characteristics of wood as a material
- is able to describe the main principles in the production processes within lumber industry, plywood industry and other board industry
- understands the connection between raw materials and products
- is able to describe methods for drying sawn logs and understands their effect on the quality of sawn logs
- is familiar with the most important methods for wood modification
