Objective
The learning goals of the study period (course)
After completing this course, the student is expected to:
• Know the basics of academic writing.
• Have knowledge about writing with references.
• Be able to communicate, orally and in writing, in a professional manner in the situations that are likely to take place in one’s working life.
• Be aware of central terminology in one’s own field, and be able to understand the main content of professional literature.
• Be able to manage meetings and other working life related situations in English.
• Be aware of cultural differences and neurodivergent behavior and preferences in a business development setting and working environment.

Spoken and written communication. Central terminology of the chosen professional field.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Communication: The student can communicate in a professional manner in basic work-related situations, both orally and in writing, but with noticeable errors and limited fluency.
Terminology: The student demonstrates a basic awareness of central terminology in their field and can understand the main content of professional literature with some difficulty.
Meetings: The student can manage meetings and other work-related situations in English with significant support and preparation.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Communication: The student can communicate effectively in a professional manner in most work-related situations, both orally and in writing, with minor errors and good fluency.
Terminology: The student shows a good understanding of central terminology in their field and can comprehend the main content of professional literature with relative ease.
Meetings: The student can manage meetings and other work-related situations in English with moderate support and preparation.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Communication: The student can communicate proficiently and confidently in a professional manner in all work-related situations, both orally and in writing, with minimal errors and high fluency.
Terminology: The student has an excellent grasp of central terminology in their field and can easily understand and engage with professional literature.
Meetings: The student can independently and effectively manage meetings and other work-related situations in English with little to no support.
