The student:

- obtains knowledge of the specific prerequisites related to neonatal care
- obtains knowledge of specific health risks related to children and adolescents and prepare to guide the child, adolescent and family in their decisions regarding health-promotion
- is able to use the nursing process as a framework for providing individualized care for patients, with consideration to the age-specific needs of the patient
- has knowledge about children with special and development needs and can apply their knowledge in the nursing care
- can prioritize the patient´s needs for nursing care, act correctly on those, and document them based on the national classification system
- understand ethics and different cultural needs and learn to treat the patient, and the family, with dignity
