• The students are ready to create for all stages in life the ultimate service module that suits the client
• The students have the ability and preparedness to meet and cooperate with different kind of client personalities and are able to respond to the client’s needs and wishes through style consulting
• The students function as style advisors and can apply their knowledge about different products when giving the client advice
• The students have the preparedness to plan makeup and hair to create suitable looks with clothing and accessories
• The students have knowledge about fashion, trends and colors for the season and can adapt it to creating the client’s style and looks
• The students can create a complete and sustainable wardrobe for the client
• The students are familiar with the work as a personal shopper and comply it during style consultation
• The students can apply, analyze and develop looks and an approach that promotes sustainable development

The course is conducted partly online and includes group work as well as individual planning for the study visit

Studiematerial och rekommenderad litteratur

Study material on Moodle or according to the lecturer.
Students follow the thesis writing instructions for Novia UAS.

Undervisningsmetoder

This course is based either on a study visit or a literature study.
Participation in the study visit is voluntary; however, students who choose not to participate must complete specific substitute assignments as described below.

The entire group will complete the same option – either Option A (Study Visit) or Option C (Literature Study).
Option B applies only to students who, for specific reasons, are unable to take part in the study visit.

For course assignments/workshops are the aim to collaborate with working life.

Examination consists of submitted assignments. Examination spring 2025.

A) Students Participating in the Study Visit (Recommended Option)
Planning & Preparation: 30% – 10 hours in class + 10 hours of independent work
Presentation (Oral & Visual): 30% – 10 hours
Photo Portfolio from the Study Visit (Quality & Reflection): 35% – 10 hours
Study Visit: Professional Conduct & Participation (including ethics and punctuality): 5% – 16-hour visit

B) Students Not Participating in the Study Visit (Alternative Assignment)
Planning & Preparation: 30% – 10 hours in class + 10 hours of independent work
Presentation (Oral/Visual): 20% – 10 hours
Photo Portfolio (using borrowed images – relevance and proper source referencing): 15% – 10 hours
Essay (minimum 5,000 words) – quality, analysis, and referencing: 30% – equivalent to 16 hours of study visit work
Academic Integrity & AI Statement (referencing, Turnitin submission, AI usage): 5%

C) All Students Complete the Course as a Literature Study
Research-based work focusing on Personal Style Consultation
Literature Study Method based on three scientific sources

Approved assignment and course assignments/study visit.
Feedback is given individually or as group feedback.

Bedömningsmetoder (förverkligande) och -kriterier (studieperioder/kurser)

The course is evaluated based on grades (0-5) for assignments (individual and team) and for activity. The average of the grades for assignments form the final grade in the course.

Underkänd (0)

The student has not followed the instructions of the assignment and shows especially vague competences and understanding within the theme.
The assignments are inadequate or lacking.
The student has not participated or contributed anything during the course.

Bedömningskriterier, tillfredsställande-synnerligen tillfredsställande (1-2)

The student has partly followed the instructions of the assignments and demonstrates superficial competence and basic understanding of the subject.
The content of submitted assignments are satisfactory.
The student has participated in the course, but the commitment and activity have been low or satisfactory.

Bedömningskriterier, goda-synnerligen goda (3-4)

The student has almost or has fulfilled the instructions of the assignments and demonstrates good or eminently good competence and good understanding within the subject.
The content of submitted assignments are good or eminently good.
The student has participated or participated actively in the course and demonstrates commitment for content of the course and course assignments.

The student has fulfilled the instructions of the assignments and demonstrates excellent competence and a complete understanding within the subject.
The content of submitted assignments are excellent and exceptionally executed.
The student has been active during the course and demonstrates extra commitment and interest for content of the course and course assignments.
The student has an immerse competence and shows a deeper understanding of the subject in relation to the upcoming profession.
