Objective

The student:

Is able to as part of an interprofessional team, plan, execute, evaluate, document and report person-centered/client centrerad care in pre-, peri- and post-operative care and demonstrate a reflective and ethical approach to care

Is competent in surgical and perioperative care and has mastered central evidence based care methods and can perform clinical examinations, functional measurements and treatments and knows how to prevent complications

Can guide the patient pre- and postoperatively and understands the chain of care

Masters aseptics in pre-, peri- and post-operative care and understand the nurse's responsibility in preventing the spread of infection

Is able to plan, execute and evaluate safe medication management in surgical and perioperative care

Can account for various surgical health hindrance, health resources, illness, examinations and treatments

Can account for various types of anesthesia and analgesia and explains how they affect the patient's vital functions

Care of patients with central surgical health hindrance/illnesses pre-, intra- and post-operatively

The central clinical examinations and functional measurements, evidence-based patient-centered care and rehabilitation methods

Person-centered care process

Patient safety and aseptics in pre-, peri-, and post-operative care

Medication management in pre-operative and post-operative care

The central surgical diseases (gastro-surgery, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, thoracic and vascular surgery)
