Objective

Upon completion of the course, the student is expected to be able to:

- Provide examples of practical and theoretical insights into teaching instruments to students at an advanced level.
- Integrate theory and practice in pedagogical thinking by demonstrating analytical and critical problem solving and inner reflection.
- Define and discuss principles of leadership and group dynamics in the pedagogical process.
- Explain and justify the importance of peer collaboration in teaching.
- Discuss and reflect on the teaching process and the consequences of different courses of action, including in group teaching and ensemble activities.
- Have an increased analytical awareness of their ability to evaluate, question and change their own professional practice and professional development as a music educator.
- Discuss and problematise the ethical and social dimensions of teaching in a multicultural society.

Content

- Didactics of instrument teaching and ensemble conducting with a focus on learners at an advanced level through group teaching and individual tutoring.
- Analysing and evaluating learning processes from a broad perspective.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Grade 1: The learning outcomes are met but the knowledge and skills are assessed as superficial.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Grade 3: The learning outcomes are achieved and the knowledge and skills are assessed as good. Students show evidence of being able to problematise and reflect on the course themes.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Grade 5: Learning outcomes are more than well met and skills are assessed as excellent. Students problematise and reflect on the themes of the course.
