Objective

After completing the course, the student is expected to
• be able to identify and describe the central theories of development psychology
• have insight into the psychology of pedagogy, with a focus on self-knowledge and human development from a wider perspective
• be able to observe psychological and social phenomena in different age groups and educational contexts
• be able to observe the psychology of learning situations, and have an initiated discussion about them based on different learning theories

Content

The course aims to introduce psychology as a science, with a focus on central pedagogical and psychological theories. Based on these theories, human development is discussed from a wide perspective: cognitive, linguistic, emotional, and social, as well as crises of development. The course puts an emphasis on knowledge and insights about the individual’s knowledge of themselves and their learning and well-being.
