Objective
In the academic years 2025-2027:
- Be able to analyse and critically reflect on the application of key psychological theories of learning in contemporary education.
- Recognise and describe cognitive processes related to learning.
- Be able to reflect on the role of the teacher and interaction in learning situations.
- Be able to describe and reflect on the motivation theories (goal-orientation theory, expectancy-value theory, self-determination theory).
- Be able to account for central theories in educational psychology.
Content
- Cognitive sciences, basis for understanding the application of psychology in an educational perspective, interaction, upbringing, education, formation and development.
- The course emphasises the importance of understanding the relevance of motivation in learning and how teachers and schools can increase students' motivation based on the motivation theories (goal orientation theory, expectancy-value theory, self-determination theory).

Grade 1: The learning outcomes are met but the knowledge and skills are assessed as superficial.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Grade 3: The learning outcomes are met and the knowledge and skills are assessed as good. Students show evidence of being able to problematise and reflect on the course themes.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Grade 5: The learning outcomes are more than well met and the skills are assessed as excellent. Students problematise and reflect on the course themes.
