The student needs to have
A basic understanding of the geotechnical properties of the soil and rock
Understanding of the importance of geotechnics for dimensioning basic structures and from the whole point of view of construction
Knowledge of how and why soil surveys are conducted
Knowledge of how basic geotechnical analyzes are performed
Knowledge how to calculate slope stability and soil pressure

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Have a basic understanding of how soil is named and understand the principles of how soils are investigated.
Understands the importance of adequate soil probes, can interpret survey results and understands the principles of how soil is formed.
The student should understand the consequence that constructions can receive set damages and be able to use simple calculation methods.
Must understand simple calculation methods how to calculate the risk of landslides in basic constructions.
The student should understand how vertical and horizontal soil pressure arises and how the soil pressure affects geotechnical support structures.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Have a good understanding of how soils are named and understand well the principles and reasons why soils are investigated.
Can determine which type of soil probing is best suited, has good ability to interpret survey results. and understands the principles of how earths are formed.
The student should understand the consequence that constructions can receive set damages and be able to apply several different calculation methods.
Understands the principle of how to calculate the risk of landslides in basic structures and the principle of how to calculate the risk of landslides in accordance with the Eurocode.
The student should understand different calculation methods for how vertical and horizontal soil pressure arises and how the soil pressure affects geotechnical support structures.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The controller is well acquainted with geotechnical investigations and can apply survey results in construction activities.
Is well acquainted with several soil probing methods, has good ability to interpret survey results. and understands the principles of how earths are formed.
The student must understand the consequence that constructions can receive set damages, be able to demand demanding calculation methods and apply applied odometer measurements.
Must be able to calculate the risk of landslides in basic structures and calculate the risk of landslides in accordance with the Eurocode.
