Objective

Know the risks of using electricity.
Know and be able to describe the effects of electric current in the human body
Know the basic electrical safety-related laws and regulations of electrical engineering.
Know and be able to describe different protection principles against dangerous contact voltages.
Know and be able to calculate electrical circuits to meet all safety requirements imposed on them.

Content

Hazards with electricity.
Information and studies of electrical accidents and fires in Finland and other countries.
Physiological effects of electric current.
The human body as a component of a circuit.
The effects of the current.
Protection methods against dangerous currents.
Definitions of key concepts in electrical safety.
Different distribution systems.
RCD.
IP classes.
Basic principles for emergency first aid in the event of an accident.

Know different protection principles against dangerous contact voltages.
Know how electrical circuits are designed to meet all safety requirements imposed on them.
