After completing the course, students should be able to explain the machine elements treated in the course. They should be able to do this in their design work and carry out the design according to standard methods.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Knows about the function of simple machine elements.

Know the basics of sizing the machine elements that have been processed.

Knows about the influence and role of the most common machine elements in other parts of mechanical engineering.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Understands the advantages and disadvantages of different types of machine elements treated.

Can perform sizing according to standard methods after the example.

Can consider the influence and role of the most commonly used machine elements in other parts of mechanical engineering.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Independently be able to choose the appropriate type of machine element.

Can independently utilize knowledge gained in the course in design assignments that may differ slightly from examples.

Can independently integrate the machine elements into larger parts without ignoring the effect on other parts of the machine technology.
