Objective
The Student:
- has knowledge of health care provided for people of working age and can apply current legislation and national policy documents
- has knowledge and readiness to provide good occupational health care
- can carry out health surveys and promote health and wellbeing among people of working age
- has basic knowledge of how to investigate health hazards at the workplace through a workplace survey and how to conduct risk assessment at the workplace. The student also has insights into occupational medicine
- recognises the characteristics of health promotion among the elderly and can support the promotion of health and wellbeing of the elderly
- respects the cultural affiliation of the clients/patients
- can work within various networks and teams to support people of working age, the elderly and their families

Principles of Good Occupational Health Practice
Action plans, workplace surveys and monitoring of the work community
