The student will:
- be able to take part in a multiprofessional team and create a natural caring relationship with the patient
- understand the importance of aseptic working methods
- employ safe working methods
- be able to assess the patient’s caring needs, plan for interventions, implement nursing activities and demonstrate clinical nursing skills related to medical and surgical nursing, under supervision and with increasing independence
- be able to produce a written documentation of nursing care and the patient’s condition, under supervision and with increasing independence
- be able to verbally report nursing activities and the patient’s condition
-implement the underlying principles of medical and surgical nursing care at different wards
- obtain evidence-based knowledge about common diseases, and an understanding of the pharmacological treatment of the patient
- be able to perform safe drug administration under supervision
- has achieved competence in internal medicine, neurological and oncological care according to national standards
