Objective

The Student:
- understands the physiological process of childbirth
- masters care and follow-up during the different stages of uncomplicated childbirth
- has basic knowledge of fetal monitoring
- understands the physiology of labor pain and has knowledge of various pain relief methods
- can assess the well-being of the newborn and has knowledge of immediate care for the newborn
- understands the importance of a positive childbirth experience and can support the birthing woman and partner with respect, equality, and dignity during childbirth
- bases their approach on evidence-based knowledge and the individual's resources
- understands the importance of multiprofessional collaboration in the care of the birthing woman and family
