Descriptions
The Master’s Degree Programme in Social and Health care (90 credits) provides the opportunity to develop both one's own leadership skills and expertise in order to be able to develop an inter-professional social and health care. The Agenda for Sustainable Development 2030 has been implemented in the curriculum as a learning objective.
The education consists of advanced professional studies, elective studies (not in the advanced clinical care profiling) and Master’s thesis. Advanced professional studies consist of profile-specific studies and joint studies. The joint studies (30 credits) for all profiles aim at students creating commitment to professional self-leadership and lifelong learning, and can lead people, work groups and change processes, and apply a scientific, evidence-based, sustainable and ethical approach in their daily work in social and health care. One third of the studies (30 credits) consist of one's own working life-based Master’s thesis. It often acts as a bridge between studies and working life and gives students the opportunity to apply theoretical models to practical issues, the development aspect is emphasized. The Master’s thesis becomes part of the student's personal competence profile and it can consist of internal and / or external commissioned work, collaborative projects or other work-related work.
The central content of the studies for the profile of Development and Leadership is an in-depth study of development and leadership in social and health care in order to give students readiness to lead people, work groups and working communities in social and health care, as well as readiness to lead sustainable change processes.
The central content of the studies for the profile of Advanced Clinical Care is an in-depth study of advanced clinical care in order to provide students with readiness to independently, in collaboration with the care team, be able to identify, assess and evaluate patients' care needs, conduct a structured clinical examination of patients and critically analyze and evaluate the patient's care needs. Furthermore, the purpose is to provide readiness to critically analyze how disease states can affect a patient's susceptibility to beneficial and harmful effects of drug treatment and to identify health problems that are due to drug side effects and interactions.
The central content for the profile of Bioanalytics is an in-depth study of advanced clinical laboratory science in order to provide students with opportunities for expert assignments.
The central content for the profile of Radiography and Radiation Treatment is a deepening of safety and quality in the area in order to provide students with opportunities for expert assignments.
