Advanced professional studies consist of profile-specific studies in Leadership and Development and joint studies. The joint studies (30 credits) aim at students creating commitment to professional self-leadership and lifelong learning, and can lead people, work groups and change processes, and apply a scientific, evidence-based, sustainable and ethical approach in their daily work in social and health care. One third of the studies (30 credits) consist of one's own working life-based Master’s thesis. It often acts as a bridge between studies and working life and gives students the opportunity to apply theoretical models to practical issues, the development aspect is emphasized. The Master’s thesis becomes part of the student's personal competence profile and it can consist of internal and / or external commissioned work, collaborative projects or other work-related work.

The central content of the studies for the profile of Development and Leadership is an in-depth study of development and leadership in social and health care in order to give students readiness to lead people, work groups and working communities in social and health care, as well as readiness to lead sustainable change processes.
