Objective

The students
- have fundamental skills about bioanalytics and laboratory work
- have fundamental skills about the role of laboratory examinations in the patient care.
- have fundamental skills in the laboratory testing process
- have basic knowledge in cell biology, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry, and molecule biology, and the impact of this knowledge on clinical laboratory examinations

Content scheduling

Mikaela Engvall Teaching 1 credit (27h), Content: History of bioanalytics education in Finland, the biomedical laboratory scientist's profession and work opportunities, the analytical phase and basic knowledge in bioanalytics, sampling, study visit, 1 individual assignment combined with the study visit.

Camilla Ribacka, teaching 1 cr (27h) : Biochemisty and molecular biology

The assignments do not meet the criteria for a passed grade. A failed assignment should be improved according to the examiner's feedback and according to the agreed timetable.
