Objective

The student
- knows trends in the forest industry on a global level and how these affect Nordic forestry
- knows the importance of the forest industry in both a national and a global perspective
- can account for the forest industry's operating conditions
- knows the main markets for various forest industry products
- knows how the forest sector is structured and works in another country
- is familiar with import and export regulations for timber
- knows about traceability systems for timber (CoC).

FLEGT (Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade)
Forest certification
The forest sector in one of Finland's neighboring countries
The course is based on several of the global sustainability goals, mainly the goal of Industry, innovation and infrastructure
