Objective

The student:
- understands the importance of assessing the long term environmental consequences of planning and construction
- knows the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process
- is familiar with different methods of assessing environmental impacts

- the EIA process (Screening, Scoping, Impact analysis, mitigation, report writing, monitoring)
- impact assessment methods
- case studies
