Objective

The student

-can read Baroque music notation and participate in Baroque Orchestra with emphasis on baroque repertoire in French style.

-has an understanding of questions of sustainability in the field of music and culture.

-Rehearsals led by teachers and special guests.
-Masterclasses
-Concerts

Location and time

Integrated in the studies under the whole autumn semester, mostly in project-based intensive periods.

Materials

Ensemble- and orchestral projects throughout the studies have various focal points which help the student understand different periods and styles under the baroque period and give the tools to continue exploring both well-known and rare repertoire individually.

Teaching methods

Seminars on repertoire.
Rehearsals and concert projects with teachers.

A co-operation with Pietarsaari Sinfonietta.

Exam schedules

Final concert as a Christmas concert on 18th December.
