Objective
• The students have knowledge about basic hair care, the structure and function of the hair
• The students are able to analyze the hair and scalp
• The students have knowledge about the four basic forms of hair sculpture
• The students can use tools and appliances within hair design
• The students command the basics of hairstyling and blow drying techniques
• The students are aware of different hairstyling and hair care products and their use
• The students are familiar with different kinds of special care products for hair and scalp
• The students are able to plan and recommend hair care treatment for the client
• The students are familiar with the aseptic techniques in hair care and follow a good industrial hygiene
• The students are aware of the profession of a hairdresser and the practical work in the field
• The students can apply, analyze and develop an approach that promotes economical and ecological sustainability for product use, treatments and services

Assessment methods and criteria
The course is evaluated based on grades (0-5) for assignments (individual and team). The average of the grades for assignments form the final grade in the course. The student´s activity during the course and during the team project can raise or bring down the final grade.
