Objective

The student
- has knowledge of service systems and legislation within the area of immigration and integration
- can work with a culture-sensitive and integration promoting approach
- can promote intercultural encounters and environments

- Immigration, integration, refugee and asylum
- Cultural sensitivity and cultural competence
- Integration laws
- The integration process
- The service system for asylum seekers and quota refugees

Location and time

Course starts 3.1 with a preparatory assignment before the first lecture 14.1

Exam schedules

The Course consists of the Partial Examinations:

- attendance and participation 14.1 and 10.2
- preparatory task due 14.1
-interview assignment due week 6
-presentation and participation at workshop 14.1
- discussion on optional topic due week 9

Feedback on Assignments, Interview and Discussion is given by teacher within three weeks of submission

If the partial examinations of the course have not been submitted or compensated/supplemented by 5.3.2023 at the latest, retake exam on the book: Congress, E. Piller & Gonzaìlez, M. J. 2013. English Language Skills are not assessed in this Course. The Students is however expected to use English in discussions in class, this is part of the Criteria for passing this Course

The course is assessed on a scale of 1-5

For an approved performance:
Attendance at lectures and workshops
Approved preparatory assignment
Approved interview assignment
Approved presentation at workshop
Approved discussion assignment

Student performance is assessed on a scale where
1-2 demonstrate basic knowledge of the subject and satisfactory commitment
3-4 demonstrates good knowledge of the subject and active commitment
5 demonstrates particularly good knowledge of the subject and remarkable commitment
