Objective

The aim of the course is for the student to:
- be familiar with different human perspectives and views on life, but also their own philosophy of life
- be conversant with basic concepts within both ethics and philosophy
- be aware of the most important philosophical currents within western society
- have the ability to argue and analyze problems in both working and daily life from both philosophical and ethical standpoints
- be aware of and be able to adapt to ethical guidelines for the practice of social work
- have the necessary knowledge to develop a professional job role based on philosophical theory, a work ethic shaped by humanism and honest self-reflection

- Individual learning task

Attendance requirements: students attend at least 4/5 part-time study sessions (GK/UK)

If the attendance requirement is not met, the student contacts the course manager and agrees on a compensation task.

Individual learning task: Students hand in written work. The learning task is assessed according to the scale 0-5. More detailed instructions regarding the learning task are published on the course's Moodle page. Students receive short written feedback on the learning task in connection with the submitted work on the Moodle platform

The course and the learning task are assessed according to the scale 0-5

Students have not submitted a learning task within the set time and/or in their task analyzed too superficially and/or incorrectly and/or without anchoring in a relevant source

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

Students have answered the questions in a relevant way and, with the help of literature studies and/or relevant sources, have been able to make their own applied reflections

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

Students have answered the questions and demonstrated clarity over central concepts and definitions in the field. The text shows logic in structure and students can also make relevant, reflective parallels. Students have been able to apply the written ethical guidelines and governing documents that are applied within the social sector.

Students show strong clarity and maturity in their understanding. Students can reflect on the phenomena in an in-depth way. Students have shown strong commitment to the text. Students have varied and analytically been able to apply the written ethical guidelines and governing documents that are applied within the social sector.
