Objective
The student will:
- take part in a multiprofessional team and create a natural caring relationship with the patient
- be able to communicate with patients and colleagues mainly in Swedish or Finnish, the main supervision is Swedish or Finnish
- demonstrate respect for the patient´s integrity and autonomy
- demonstrate the ability to support the patient in the rehabilitation process
- understand the importance of aseptic working methods
- employ safe working methods
- be able to assess the patient´s caring needs, plan for interventions, implement nursing activities and demonstrate clinical nursing skills related to medical nursing, under supervision and with increasing independence
- be able to produce a written documentation of nursing care and the patient´s condition, under supervision and with increasing independence, in Finnish or Swedish
- be able to verbally report nursing activities and the patient´s condition
-implement the underlying principles of medical nursing care at different wards
- obtain evidence-based knowledge about common diseases, and an understanding of the pharmacological treatment of the patient
- be able to perform safe drug administration under supervision
