Objective
The student
- understands the concept of bioeconomics and its importance in Finland
- is aware of the potential of natural resources to replace non-renewable products in the transition from linear to circular economics
- knows the potential of natural resources in the production and sale of goods, services and experiences
- knows the concepts of quality management and quality certification
- in smaller project groups, is responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting seminars under the theme "Current issues in bioeconomics"
- has deepened their knowledge within an area of bioeconomics of their choice
- can broaden their knowledge of the theme through literature studies
- can carry out an investigation/survey in their chosen subject area in smaller project groups, preferably in cooperation with the business community in the region in question
- can compile a written report
- can present project results to different audiences

Field oriented chosen bioeconomy projects are the essential core of the course content.
"News in bioeconomy" is an opportunity for students to invite special experts in certain chosen areas of the bioeconomy.

Assessment methods and criteria
Course grade 0 - 5.
Bioeconomy project 70 % of the grade.
Course activity 30 % of the grade.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)
Accepted bioeconomy project and course activity on an acceptable minimum level for grade 1.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4)
Accepted bioeconomy project and course activity on a good level for grade 3.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Accepted bioeconomy project and course activity on an excellent level for grade 5.
