Objective

The Student:
- knows the basic concepts of sociology and current research areas of particular importance to social workers
- can identify the basic features and changes in Finnish society from a social science perspective
- understands the factors that affect human and group social behavior

- close relationships and their importance
- disease and health from a sociological perspective
- gender, gender minorities, gender, and gender equality
-ethnicity, religion, and culture from a sociological perspective

The student demonstrates superficial competence and basic understanding of the subject
