Objective
The student:
Can plan, implement and assess the follow-up of health, well-being and resources of expecting families as well as of families with infants
Recognises risks and complications related to pregnancy and childbirth and can, if necessary, consult other experts in the field of maternal health care
Is familiar with the course of childbirth and can manage an emergency childbirth
Can, by use of resource promoting methods, advise clients in aspects related to pregnancy, childbirth, puerperium, couple relations and family planning

Health risks and complications during pregnancy
Social awareness (current challenges)
The normal and complicated delivery process, pain relief and examination
Resource enhancing methods in working with the family who have had a children
Guidance and support for the pregnant and the family
