Objective
• The students understand the importance of esthetics in the field of Beauty and Cosmetics
• The students are familiar with the history of fashion and with important people that had influence on fashion
• The students are familiar with different beauty ideals and style icons through ages
• The students are familiar with the basics of fashion studies and understand its role in society
• The students have knowledge about the social and cultural significance in fashion and clothing
• The students can apply picture analysis on fashion pictures and photographs
• The students can apply, analyze and develop an approach that promotes social, economical and ecological sustainability through ideals, fashion and clothing

Examination consists of module assignments that are submitted for the module seminar. The last deadline is at the last module seminar. The timetable for modules is presented in Moodle.

The course is evaluated based on grades (0-5) for module assignments (pair and team). The average of the grades for module assignments form the final grade in the course. The student´s activity during the course and during the pair / team work is important for a successful outcome.

The student has not followed the instructions of the module assignment and shows especially vague competences within the theme.
The module assignments are inadequate or lacking.
The student has not participated or contributed anything during the course.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)
The student has partly followed the instructions of the module assignments and demonstrates superficial competence and basic understanding of the subject.
