Objective

After passing the course the student is expected to:

- master a drawing program for making 2-dimensional drawings.
- be able to make own technical drawings with sufficient information needed to manufacture components.
- know the designations and be able to use symbols according to current standards in machine design.
- be able to critically review drawings for approval in the industrial process.
- Understand the importance of drawings in the manufacturing process and the impact on the production economy.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Understand and be able to read drawing layout and title fields. Understands the layout composition.
Is able to sketch simple details as a basis for drawings.
Knows current drawing standards and projections.
Knows the drawing characters and the symbols and their meaning.
Knows the basics of tolerance theory.
Is able to understand different industry drawings
Knows about some machine elements and their properties.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Understands the importance of documentation.
Can plan the documentation.
Can apply the sketching technique to simple constructions.
Can draw and measure simple machine drawings and apply standardized drawing techniques and drawing standards.
Understands the limitations of manufacturing
Can introduce tolerances and surface signs in drawings.
Can apply the symbols of the simple machine elements in drawings.
Can read various components and their significance in nearby industry drawings

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Realize the responsibility for the accuracy of the documentation.
Is able to use databases
Has developed a three-dimensional way of thinking, and can apply it in drawing up drawings.
Is able to independently draw and measure complicated machine drawings.
Is able to consider the possibilities and limitations of manufacturing methods.
Understands and is able to introduce geometric tolerances.
Have a good knowledge of various industry drawings.
