Objective
Objectives of the study unit:
This course is designed to prepare students as managers to be more effective in dealing (both strategically and organizationally) with the digital transformation occurring globally and through an organization’s network of partnerships.
First, within the course, digital transformation is defined followed by learning through case study analysis about news ways of working within organizations and their networks. For example, several course modules address the need created by the digital transformation for management to coordinate and communicate within and across entities, including the enabling of new organizational forms, identifying disruptive technologies, and innovating structures for collaborating with the entity’s stakeholders such as through corporate social responsibility (CSR) models.
The focus of this course is on the management of the relationship between technology and the business, rather than a focus on the technology itself.
