Objective
The aim of the course is to provide the student knowledge of relevant financing systems and financing instruments in the shipping industry. Students understand maritime economic and policy systems and can analyze market shaping, use business intelligence and future forecasting. Students are able to analyze future trends, change in markets and can take part in the strategic planning of the company’s operations as part of sustainable development of the company development.
After completing the course, the student will:
- Understand relevant financing systems and financing instruments in the shipping industry.
- Understand maritime economic and policy systems and are able to analyze market shaping, use business intelligence and future forecasting.
- Understand the strategic planning of the company’s operations as part of sustainable development of the company development.
- Be able to use qualitative and quantitative methods in the development projects and research as part of shipping companies operative and strategic planning.
- Understand sustainable developments role and determinants for shipping business.

- Financing Shipping; investments and financing instruments;
- Relationship between marine economy and globalization;
- Trends in marine economy and their effect on different sectors of shipping; strategic planning for the future;
- National and international marine policy, and their effects of the on the economy and strategic planning of shipping business.
- Sustainable developments role and determinants for shipping business.
