Objective

The student:
* understands the prospects and limitations of different building materials and is familiar with the most common building materials used in Finland
* understands how the choice of materials affects the design of a building

Content

The goal is for the student to get to know the most common building materials and frame solutions in Finland and to understand the possibilities and limitations of the various building materials. This leads to an understanding of how the material choice works on the design of a building.

The goal is achieved through studies in both historical and modern techniques of building houses.
