Objective

The student:
- understands the effect of solar radiation on heating and cooling loads
- understands how thermal mass effect indoor temperature conditions
- can perform calculations for multistorey buildings with degree hours, analyze the results and suggest actions for improved results
- can generate and interpret results of energy simulations for different heating systems in single-family houses

- fundamentals of the indoor climate and energy simulation software IDA ICE
- indoor climate simulation of a multistorey building
- energy simulation of a single-family house

Qualifications

The courses of Ventilation and Air Conditioning and Heating and Heat Distribution, or similar knowledge
