- know the basics of book-keeping
- understand the Finnish VAT system and ca do monthly reports
- has the practical skills needed to manage a company's accounting
- can interpret a small company's financial statements

2 exams based on course planning. The re-examination on the dates set for the institution.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Students understand the role of Accounting in a company and know the basics of book-keeping
Students understand the Finnish VAT system and know how this affect the financial management in the company
Students have basic knowledge of period closing and can do interpretations using available software

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Students understand the role of Accounting in a company and can independently do the book-keeping for a small company with domestic trade and easier payroll payments
Students can apply the Finnish VAT and do monthly reports for the company.
Students can do period closing for a smaller company and can describe the meaning of this. Student can use a book-keeping software.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Students can explain the role of Accounting and the Accounting principles and can independently apply these on the financial management in a smaller company
Students can independently apply the Finnish VAT and do the accounting including all VAT reports.
Students can independently do period closing for a smaller company and are able to analyze annual reports using available software.

Examination and submission work, all parts should be approved

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

Students understand the task of accounting in the company and know basic accounting principles
Students understand the basic principles of the Finnish VAT system and how it affects the preparation of the business account
Students have basic knowledge of the financial statements and can make simple interpretations of this with the help of available software.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

Students understand the task of accounting in the company well and can independently book for a smaller company with domestic trade and simpler payouts.
Students can apply the Finnish VAT system and make monthly reports
Students can prepare a financial statement for a smaller company and can describe its content and significance. Students master a bookkeeping program.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Students can describe the task of accounting and accounting principles and can apply these independently in the financial management of a small business.
Students can independently apply the Finnish VAT system and prepare the business report so that all requirements are met
Students can independently prepare a financial statement and interpret and analyze this using available tools.
