Objective

The student
- has knowledge of the legislation, the strategies and the health policy programmes that form the basic principles for public health nurses
- is well acquainted with the core values and ethical principles in public health nursing
- knows about the developmental stages of public health nursing
- has the skills to support health promotion in a multicultural and changing society based on the needs of various population groups
- understands the significance of social analysis as a main principle in health promotion work
- has knowledge of working with outreach activities and a resource-strengthening approach as well as identifying and supporting clients/patients in need of special/intensive support
- can promote sustainable development
