Objective

The student shall be familiar with and understand the different systems for cultivation and crop rotation and how crop rotation affects plant nutrition supply, the need for plant protection and the long-term fertility of the soil. The student shall be able to choose suitable crop rotation based on the biological, ecological, technical and economic preconditions and be able to plan soil tillage, the use of green manure and plant protection in such a way that these technological measures in cultivation tally with crop rotation. The student shall know how to plan crop rotation in a goal-oriented way in order to minimize the risk of plant nutrient losses and to minimize the need for direct protection measures against weeds, plant diseases and pests. The student shall know how to draw detailed cultivation plans and cultivations maps for farms with the help of suitable software (Windows WISU).
