Objective

The student will be able to:
-assess vital signs
-employ aseptic technique
-understand and manage nursing care when a patient is isolated due to illness reasons
-support the patient’s hygiene
-demonstrate knowledge and perform skills in basic care, and in promoting physiological health (activity, exercise, sleep)
-assist a client with nutritional matters
-obtain knowledge about, and provide, oxygen therapy
-know the importance of ergonomic working methods and show skills in moving and handling patients
-demonstrate knowledge about skin integrity and different types of wounds, as well as perform skills in wound care
-obtain knowledge of first aid, and be prepared to act in accordance with the requirements of the acute situation

Content

Spring 2022
Students who participate need to be present in Vaasa, Campus. Max 15 students in the group.
