Objective

The student will be able to
- take part in a multiprofessional team and create a natural caring relationship with the patient
- communicate with patients and colleagues in Swedish or Finnish, the main supervision will be carried out in Swedish or Finnish
- follow the general rules and routines in a working environment
- independently assess the patient´s caring needs, plan for interventions, as well as take part in the implementation of the plan and the evaluation of the given nursing care
- make decisions concerning the patient´s individual nursing care, under supervision and with increasing independence
- implement the nursing process for patients with multiple diseases
- document and give verbal reports of given nursing care, under supervision and with increasing independence
- understand the administration of a ward, perform necessary procedures when receiving and discharging a patient

Teaching methods

Practice in patient-centered nursing care
Four weeks optional internship in healthcare during the summer (summer job): serviced accommodation, enhanced serviced accommodation, home service

Student workload

The summer internship = 6 ECTS = 4 weeks. 38 h/week. A total of 152 hours.
